Please NOTE: This is a two day class. Day One: is 8:00-1630 for classroom instruction and Day Two is 9:00-1:00 in a simulation setting applying knowledge using high fidelity simulation equipment.
The class includes signs and symptoms of the sick neonate and guidelines on stabilization activities. Discussion of the method for examining the sick neonate by using the S.T.A.B.L.E. mnemonic to help with the recall of information and organization of care. Attendees will be introduced to the six sections of therapy identifications in the sick neonate: Sugar /Glucose Therapy, Temperature, Artificial Breathing, Blood Pressure, Lab Work/ Sepsis, and Emotional Support.
